The Pawn

loan approved stamp

A pawn, for all intents and purposes, is a loan and a very simple and straight forward one to obtain at that. There are no credit checks or income verification. For a pawn loan all you need to do is pledge something of value like gold as collateral for cash.

At Gables Pawn & Jewelry we offer pawn loans exclusively on high-end watches, fine jewelry, diamonds, & gold. We will on occasion consider other luxury or rare items. Please contact for more information on pawning something that is not jewelry related.

How it Works

Here's a step by step on the pawn process:

  1. Bring in an item of value to pledge. For example, a Cartier watch.
  2. We determine the pawn value of your watch. You can choose to accept the maximum value or a lesser amount. Remember: The less you borrow the less you have to pay back.
  3. A pawn agreement is written up where you have 60 days to pay back the loan plus service charges. Service charges range from 5% to 10% of the loan amount per 30 days. The first 30 days are pre-set at the full service charge. After 30 days the service charges are pro-rated daily. Most loans are set at 10% with discounts offered to loans over $5,000 on a sliding scale.
  4. You can choose to extend the loan past 60 days by paying the service charges to renew the agreement. There is no limit to how often you can renew the loan.

The Gables Pawn & Jewelry Difference

Not all pawn shops are the same. Some offer loans on a variety of items where we only loan on luxury items. As Miami's original high-end pawn broker, we are in a position to help you get the most money out of your items.

Where other pawn shops will valuate your items based on what they can sell them to a wholesaler for, Gables Pawn is a wholesaler, which means you cut out a middle man and put more money into your pocket.

The average nation-wide average for a pawn is $60, at Gables Pawn our average loan is over $2,000. When it comes dealing with your valuables, Gables Pawn & Jewelry has the experience and knowledge to better serve you.
